Who Is Paul Hubbard?

FACT OF THE DAY:  Who is Paul Hubbard?  No, he is not the man wearing #18 for the Denver Broncos. That would be Peyton Manning in the picture leading the huddle. However, Hubbard is the person who first came up with the huddle.

In 1892 he was a quarterback for Gallaudet College, a deaf college in Washington DC. In an attempt to keep the other team from the plays that were being signed, Hubbard pulled his teammates in to form a circle around him.
