FACT OF THE DAY: On October 31, 1950, Earl Lloyd made history. He became the first African-American player to play in the NBA (National Basketball Association). He played for the Washington Capitols. In 1955, while playing for the Syracuse Nationals, Lloyd would become the first player (along with teammate Jim Tucker) to win an NBA championship.
