FACT OF THE DAY: NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) has no issues when it comes to surfing the web or streaming videos. While 25-50 Mb per second are the “norm speed” for everyday internet use, NASA’s internet speed is 91Gb (with a ‘G’) per second.

NASA Turns 60!

FACT OF THE DAY:  NASA turns 60! It was 60 years ago today, on July 29, 1958, that the US Government established the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. The goal of this new administration was to conduct and organize all SPACE related activities and explorations.

This action by the US Government was a direct reaction to Russia launching the Sputnik satellite into outer space. The US viewed this as an embarrassment as they were used to be the leader on the technology forefront.

Neil Armstrong Flew Before He Drove

Neil Armstrong, famed astronaut who took the first steps [ever] on the moon, was able to fly a plane before he was able to drive a car.

Armstrong obtained his flying certificate and had his first solo flight within a month after turning 16 years old. This all took place before he went for his driver’s license.

A lifelong fan of flying, it is no surprise that Armstrong would end up flying space shuttles for NASA.
