FACT OF THE DAY: Not to be mistaken with the small city of Cool, California (near Sacramento), Berlin, Germany has been nicknamed “The City of Cool”. The name was earned due to Berlin’s reputation as a music, art, and party city.
FACT OF THE DAY: In the medieval days of Germany, they had an interesting way of curing a toothache. They would kiss a donkey. You read correctly. Somehow, the dentists of back then convinced their patients to kiss a donkey whenever they had a toothache.
FACT OF THE DAY: June 08, 1948, 70 years ago today, the first Porsche vehicle was completed in Germany. The company had built other types of vehicles but this prototype (labeled ‘No. 1’) was the first to bear the “Porsche” name.
FACT OF THE DAY: Did you know, that French poodles are NOT from France? Though they are popular and common throughout the history of France, this breed of dog did not originate among the French.
So where do they come from? The come from Germany. Not only are poodles German, but they were also bred to be hunting dogs. It was believed that their water resistant coat made them the ideal duck hunting accomplice.
