FACT OF THE DAY: It was 39 years ago today that the famed “Miracle on Ice” game took place. During the semi-finals of the 1980 Winter Olympics, the men’s USA hockey team defeated the Russian team by a score of 4-3. They would then defeat Finland by a score of 4-2 to clinch the gold medal.

FACT OF THE DAY: Because one country just wasn’t enough, there is a two country golf club! Located in both Finland and Sweden, the Tornio Golf Club is quite the unique golfing experience. The course is divided in half with nine holes on each side. If that wasn’t enough, you can even golf in the snow during the winter months.

FACT OF THE DAY: Who eats the most amount of ice cream? The answer is the country of New Zealand. Per capita, this country consumes an average of 7.5 gallons per person every year. The United States, Australia, Finland, and Sweden round out the Top 5.
FACT OF THE DAY: In the country of Finland, one receives their Phd with style. When crossing the stage to be given their diploma, PhD candidates can choose to do so with top hat and sword. One must pay for it out of their own pocket, but it is still a nice option to have.
