FACT OF THE DAY:  Happy Birthday to ‘The Little Mermaid’! The beloved Disney film was released 29 years ago! Twenty nine years and two days to be exact, November 13, 1989.  The animated film follows the story of 16 year old mermaid Ariel, who becomes human for 3 days and then falls in love with a human prince. The Little Mermaid featured such hit songs as Under the Sea, Kiss the Girl, and Part of Your World.

Jackie Chan In Beauty and The Beast

FACT OF THE DAY:  Disney’s animated version of Beauty and the Beast was released in 1991. It made over $400 million in box office sales. Did you know that Jackie Chan was in this version of the film? Well, sort of. The famed martial artist did the voice of the Beast in the Mandarin version of the film.  Not only did he do the voiceover work, but he also sang the songs.

A Donald Duck Tradition

There is a Christmas tradition in Sweden that is quite like no other. When 3pm rolls around, on Christmas Eve, the entire family gathers around the television to watch Donald Duck.

The tradition started in 1960 and continues to this day. Family members of all ages get together and watch Disney’s “Kalle Anka och hans vanner onskar God Jul.”

Roughly translated, that means “From All of Us to All of You.”
